Never Expected

Incidents abound in life, but one incident that got stuck in my memory took place when I was in the 7th grade. Our English teacher asked us to write an essay on Racing Cars as part of homework. I did some research, took cues from the internet, and came up with an end product that looked fantastic. Hardly had I finished a re-reading of my essay, Robert, my classmate and neighbor, came to discuss ideas he wished to include in his essay. He saw mine and asked for a copy to match our essay formats. Next day, Roberts essay was adjudged best in class and read aloud. Word to word it was my essay. I approached the English teacher and showed him my essay. I asked him why he took Roberts name and not mine. How can girls write well on topics that concerns men came the reply.
